Gave up on A&B a long time ago. As others have said, they have a lot of bikes but not much of anything else other than a complete line of Specialized accessories. Sales staff is pretty much indifferent and uninterested in anything but the actual sale of the most expensive bike they can get you to buy.
Many better shops in town..

Large shop with tons of bikes. Not a large selection of anything else. They do carry some other stuff but if you are looking for cassettes, chainrings, brakes or other components you are looking in the wrong place. They do a good job with services.

Customer Service

The service kind of blows here. I do get a hello when I walk in the door but that is about it. They only get interested if the customer begins contact about something in peticular. I've had my bike serviced and rebuilt here and they are pretty good at getting it back to you when they say they would.

I usually go here just to get my bike shop fix when I drive down from Saint Robert. I also go to other shops but it's mostly to browse.

The shop its self is laid out nice. Plenty of bike options although don't plan on getting any bargains on parts or bikes.

Customer Service

By far the worst part of the shop. I have lived and mountain biked in Springfield for 8 years now and attempted to use A&B on numerous occasions for tunes, parts, gear, advice, information. On every trip I was greeted with rude attitude. I have heard this same experience out of my other mountain biking friends. Im not sure if its because the majority of workers prefer road bikes but I cant believe how rude and overprice their service is.

Bottom line I would highly recommend another shop such as sunshine bike or Springfield bike. They always treat me with respect and fair prices.

Good people make this shop worth going to. I am sure other shops have nice folks too, but A&B did such a great job right up front, I saw no need to even look around.

This is where I got my start in cycling. I buy road bikes and MTB from A&B. I have always had great service and good pricing with them. I am always welcomed with a smile. Since I started visiting this shop in 2007 I have lost 60LBS. The employees have taught me many things over the years...ie dont wear under wear below your spandex, to eat when you ride, and some other great pointers. They knew I was just getting into it and tried to help me every step along the way.

Customer Service

Exceptional

Went to this particular shop to buy my first mountain bike. Service was terrible. Not knowing much about the sport at the time, I presumed I would be getting knowledgeable sales staff, etc. Basically, they threw me a bike that was in my price range and never even fit me to the bike. Understand that I was completely new at this and did not even know this was an issue. After soon developing knee and back issues, I discussed the situation with another local bike shop a few blocks south and they were exceptionally helpful. I have since purchased 2 new bikes from the "other" bike shop and will never go back to A&B again.

I've bought 3 bikes at A&B. A rockhopper, followed by a stumpjumer fsr and finally an epic. They cut me really good deal on the epic.

I generally do my own wrenching but if I get in over my head A&B bails me out.

On one ride last summer a stick took out a couple of spokes on my rear wheel. I took it in to the shop to get the spokes replaced. They had to order the dt swiss spokes, but I got the wheel back in 3 days. Best part, they didn't charge me a dime and gave me some spokes to have for spares. They just said they appreciate my business.

They sell all supplements at cost which is below "internet" prices. Plus if you want something they don't have they'll get it.

Customer Service

It's great. They've never questioned a warranty claim and have a quick turnaround on things they service.

A & B has a large selection and a great atmosphere. It's bigger than most shops in terms of size. Prices seem to be consistent with other shops in the area. Prices can vary from shop to shop on different things. The people working at A & B seem to be having fun, which makes being there fun.

Customer Service

One of the salespeople took the time to show me how to change a flat-tire and didn't charge me the usual installation fee. My bike had a few adjustment issues after I bought it and the service staff always took care of me right away, save for one time where I had to come back a few hours later. I've always been impressed. When I bought my mountain bike the salesperson actually looked me in the eye and answered all my questions. He even encouraged me to shop around and compare.

Similar Products Used:

I'm loyal to this shop because they always take care of me. I went from being a novice rider who just wanted to have some fun on the weekends to the occasional mountain bike racer. I think some reviewers have unreasonable expectations of bike shops. When I have questions about how my shifting works, I talk to the mechanics there (who can go on about that stuff for days). If I want to know about what the best "bang for the buck" carbon handlebar is, i talk to the salespeople. If the person I'm talking to there doesn't have the answer to my question, someone there always does.
